Week 19 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Laura Lee Miethe for winning the drawing for last weeks challenge.  The correct place was the Mummy Ride at Universal Studios in California.  That is a vacation i will never forget! David, the boys and i took a two week vacation last summer.  We drove down to Long Beach California and boarded the Carnival Imagination cruise ship for a 4 day Baja California cruise to the Catalina Islands and Ensenada Mexico.  David and I have cruised before but it was the boys’ first time and they loved it! After the cruise, we spent 5 days in California.  We spent two of those days at Universal Studios and the rest sight seeing and at the beach.  We all had an amazing time and can’t wait for the next cruise!  Here is a picture of Universal Studios and the Revenge of the Mummy Ride, as well as a link to a video of the Mummy Ride.

Spoiler alert! This link will take you to a video of the Mummy Ride so if your one of those people that like the surprise, don’t watch it.

Universal Studios Revenge of the mummy

On to Week 19.  I like to give a little update to my week so here it is.  Man, what a crazy week!  I’ve been so busy its got me scatter brained, lol.  I’m forgetting things lately, luckily nothing of real importance but sometimes it scares me! I posted earlier this week that I need a personal assistant, among other a few other things, and I’m really thinking I need one!  Too many things to keep track of, but I am managing pretty well.  My youngest two boys left with their Mother to California last Monday.  Its been a little quiet around here but I sure do miss them a lot.  4 more weeks, I cant wait for them to come home! Colten stayed home… I guess he would just miss his Dad too much 😉  I am looking very forward to a small vacation coming up in about two weeks… I’m not going to tell you where I am going yet but I probably will next week.  Sara Bonocum knows though, right Sara?  Real estate is going good.  I have two transactions currently in Escrow… one was suppose to close on the first and the other on the 7th of July but both have been pushed back about a week due to the hot market.  Let me tell you, if your thinking of buying or selling, now is the time! Interest rates are low and so is inventory.  Great time to buy and sell!  I’m currently working 2 buyers, one of which will also be selling their current home, 2 listings… both are secondary waterfront homes and another listing I should be taking in a week or 2… the owners are just preparing their house to be put on the market.  All of my business this year is referral business… Not bad for my first year… I love it!

Ok, now I really will get on with week 19.  You all should know the rules by now but I will do quick over on them.  Read this blog, then go back to my Facebook post that brought you here.  Leave your guess as to where the picture below was taken in the comments section of that post and thats it! If you guess correctly then you will be entered into a drawing to win the prize for this week.  This is a very easy one so i will be giving another $5 Starbucks gift card away.  When you see this picture, you will automatically go to the first thing you see and want to use that as your guess.  And thats ok, but I am looking for more specific… its what is centered in the pic… you cant see it very well but that is ultimately the answer i am looking for.  So, if you guess the specific thing I am talking about then i know you read this blog; and for that I will give you a bonus.  I will also give you a $10 gift card to AMC theaters plus the $5 Starbucks card.  So here it is, what is it thats out in the bay? Its hard to see but well known.  Go!!!

So it is now week 18 of this blog.  This one will be short as I am exhausted from a lot of yard work and house cleaning today, but I will give a short update to my weekend.  Yesterday was a great Father’s Day.  It started with my son Ashten making me breakfast… Pancakes, sausage links and eggs.  He made it by himself and did a great job! After that we went and looked at a few travel trailers then watched my other son Colten and the Ferris Saxons play the championship game of the Father’s Day tournament against Mt. Spokane… We won! Great job boys.  After David took the boys and i out to dinner at Golden Coral then home and I called it a night, lol.  Anyhow, it was a great weekend!  So on to this weeks challenge.  You know the routine… Read the blog then go back to the Facebook post that brought you hear, leave your guess in the comments section of that post. This week I am giving away another $10 gift card to Sweeto Burrito! I’ll give a small hint… If you watch my news feed even a little then you should know where this picture was taken at; We were here last Summer. Here is the picture… And go!

Week 17 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Cathy Isakson for winning the drawing in last weeks challenge.  You get a $10 Huhot Card :-).  Yes, the correct place of the picture was in fact the Fox Theater!  It really is a beautiful theater.  It was almost torn down several years ago but someone bought it, renovated it and its now back to its old glory.  So here is a link with a little history on the theater and a picture of what it looks like now. http://spokanehistorical.org/items/show/283 Fox Theater So for Week 17… this will be an easy one but first I must give my weekly update!  Last week was very busy and a very good week for me in Real Estate! A homeowner that I installed carpet for about a month ago called me mid week and told me that he was fed up with his current realtor that had his lake house listed and that he was going to let her go and wanted to meet with me.  So I made an appointment to meet with him that evening.  I gave my presentation and he was ready to sign! I met him at his lake house the following day, went over the property, took some pictures and signed the listing agreement.  It was awesome and so unexpected! Then, on Friday, I had another couple who I’ve known for many years ask me if i would meet them at their Father’s house to see about listing his house out in the Valley.  I met with them that evening, gave another presentation and we are scheduled to sign this Friday morning.  Love it! I just need more weeks like that, and I feel that they are coming 🙂  Ok, so back to the challenge.  Are you ready?  Ok, here goes.  this is an easy one and so I am giving away a $5 Starbucks card.  And remember, if you want a chance at that Super Prize, you need to keep guessing every week!  Here’s the picture, go back to my Facebook post that brought you here and leave your guess in the comment section of that post.  Good Luck! Where am I!? IMG_5057

Summer Time Fun

Summer is here and I’m loving this hot market we are in. I just listed another home which happens to be on the lake and it is waiting for the perfect buyer! This secondary waterfront home sits on Newman Lake between Sutton Bay and Honeymoon Bay and is just a stones throw away from the water.  It features a shared private beach and a boat launch with a dock and the option to add your own private boat slip. This home has a large kitchen with eating space that opens up to the living room overlooking the water.  The main floor has two bedrooms and one bathroom and upstairs features an additional loft/bedroom which also overlooks the water.  Off the living room and outside is a 12×12 deck perfect for your morning coffee, summer barbecues and early evening wine after enjoying a hot day out on the water.  Under neath the home is a large 640 square foot garage that will house a 16 foot boat!  It was completely remodeled top to bottom in 1997 including vinyl windows. The exterior is dressed with hardy plank siding and cedar.  And if that isn’t enough there is spacious parking all around the house! For just $167,500 you can own your own home just steps away form the lake!  Check out the virtual tour at http://www.tourfactory.com/1372510 or call me, Josh, with EXIT Real Estate Professionals at 509.496.5686 for more information! Congratulations to Laura Lee Miethe for winning the drawing for last weeks challenge! Laura won a $10 gift card to Nudo. Very yummy food and great atmosphere.  I went there last week with my friend Rena and they had the “garage door” open to the sidewalk… it was very cool.  I love that place! So yes the correct place was HuHot; another one of my favorite restaurants. In fact this weeks challenge winner will win a $10 gift card to Huhot :-).  So here’s a link to the Huhot website…

So we are 1/4 of the way through the 52 challenges and towards that Super prize.  Remember to keep joining the challenges because at the end of these challenges there will be a drawing for a Super prize worth around $200.  So it will definitely be worth it!  This was a busy weekend for us and probably for a lot of you with all of the graduations going on this time of year.  We had my cousin’s graduation ceremony to go to on Friday night, my niece’s graduation party to go to on Saturday and then my Grandmother 76th birthday party to go to today.  Busy weekend but a lot of fun.  No real estate this weekend but thats ok, the market is hot and I have the whole summer to work deals 😉  So for week 16 I am giving away a $10 gift card to Huhot.  All you gotta do is read this blog, go back to my Facebook post that brought you here and leave your guess in the comment section of that post.  If you guess right you will be put into a drawing with all of the other people that guessed correctly and the winner of that drawing will win the gift card.  So here is the picture… Good luck!

Week 15 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Sara Bonacum for winning the drawing for last weeks challenge! The correct place is of The Falls here in Spokane. Sara won a $10 Gift card to Sweeto Burrito.  My cousin and I met there last week for lunch to try it out and I will tell you that it is very good.  I got the best seller, the “Sweeto Burrito” and really enjoyed it.  You must try it!  So, the Spokane River runs right through downtown and the Falls is near River front Park.  A beautiful place to visit in our city.  If you don’t live here and ever come to visit, you must check out River Front Park and the Falls.  It truly is beautiful! A little of note… Did you know that Spokane was originally named Spokane Falls? I found that interesting and like the name Spokane falls better; but what do I know, lol.  I couldn’t really find any websites dedicated to the history of the falls so here is a link to the history of Spokane which does talk a little about the Falls and the use of it for power.

Now for this weeks Challenge.  First, let me apologize for being so late with this post.  I hate when that happens.  We were gone this weekend for my son’s Baseball tournament that was held in Missoula MT.  We got back Sunday night and I had some real estate stuff I had to get caught up on.  Then yesterday was also very hectic and was preparing documents last night for my buyer to sign so we could get her contract secure with a house that she put an offer in on last week.  This had to be done so that we could get her loan docs submitted and the appraisal ordered.  So again, I’m sorry, but business is business and that come first.  But hey this is free stuff your getting.  And, I’m even throwing a $5 gift card in for last weeks winner since I made her wait to find out that she won.  This week I will be allowing the whole week to submit your answers up to Sunday.  I’m giving away a $10 Nudo Gift card to this weeks winner.  If you haven’t eaten there yet then here’s your chance to try it for Free.  I love that place! Great food, cool atmosphere, a must try! So get your guesses in and get your friends involved in this one… It’s free food!  Ok, heres the picture and a little hint to next weeks prize.  Be sure to go back to my Facebook post that had the link that brought you here and post your answers in the comments section.  Good luck!
