Week 10 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Cheryl Steele for winning last weeks drawing.  You guessed correctly… the picture was taken at Voodoo Donuts in Portland OR.  Awesome donuts but you have to wait about an hour in line as they are always so busy!  We bought a bucket of donuts while we there after standing in line eating a pizza from a pizza place next door… Half the pizza ended up in our shoes but its something we still talk about lol.  Can’t wait to go back!  Here is a link for Voodoo donuts.

On to week 10.  Last week was a mini super prize so back to the norm for this week.  I think this one will be very easy so I am doing a $5 coffee card to Starbucks again.  I’m late getting this posted yet again because I was signing around another offer on a house today.  The market is great and property is moving fast!! I love it! I don’t even feel like I’m working when I’m doing real estate.  I truly do enjoy it!  Ok, on to the challenge.  I will post the picture.  Comment your guess in the comment section of my Facebook Post.  You have until Thursday night to post your guess.  Tag your friends, get everyone involved… Remember whats at stake here… a chance to win a SUPER PRIZE.  Just a reminder this is not any old prize like a coffee or movie card… this will be worth somewhere between $150 to $200!!!  I’m think a night at the Davenport, a spa package or a date night with dinner and a movie, so keep the guesses coming and get your friends involved… It will be worth it!  Ok, here is Week 10’s picture.  Where am I?

Week 9 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Ken Deridder for guessing last weeks challenge correctly and winning the drawing for a free AMC movie pass! The correct place was in fact Bowl and Pitcher.  I absolutely love hiking or bike riding here.  Its also a good place to take the dogs for a walk.  Its beautiful, the trails are well shaded and the dogs can cool of in the water.  Here is a link to the Bowl and Pitcher.  http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/riverside-state-park

Bowl and Pitcher Week 8

Now for week 9.  Ok, not many guesses last week :-/.  But on the upside, that does increase the chances of winning for those that do participate in the challenge.  Id like to see more guesses though!  This weeks drawing winner will win a $25 gift card to Olive Garden so I hope that will bring more people to guess.  Yes, I am obviously late getting this posted.  It was yet another crazy weekend!  I showed a couple houses on Sunday to a client who’s looking to buy a house in a rural area, and then took the boys to see Furious 5. It was a great movie… but hard to watch Paul Walker knowing he is no longer with us 😦  We had a good time, the movie was good and the company was great! Ok, I will quit jabbering now and get on with it.  All I will tell you about this one is that this place is ALWAYS busy!  You know the routine… invite/tag your friends… we need more guesses! I want to see more people participate!! Free stuff! Lets go!! or maybe your just hoarding the prizes to your self 😉 Just kidding!

Week 8 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Tanya Buettner for guessing last weeks challenge correctly and winning the drawing for prize.  The place in the picture was Manito Park.  A beautiful place to visit in the summer to feed the ducks, have a picnic, go for a walk, play frisbe, walk the dogs and many other activities.  It is a very popular place for locals and visitors.  Here is a picture and a link to the park…

Manito Week 7

So this weeks blog will be short… Sorry but we just got back from a weekend at Fairmont Hot Springs and its getting late and i’m exhausted!  Back to work tomorrow.  I need to meet my sellers as we are closing on her house on Wednesday and meet with a couple other clients this week to get their houses listed.  Its getting busy in real estate :-).  So anyway here is this weeks picture.  It is one of my favorite places to go hiking.  I like taking the dogs with me and they love it probably more than I do.  So here it is… submit your guesses, tag your friends.  This weeks prize will be another AMC movie card for one free movie.  I am inserting 2 pictures for this weeks challenge just to maybe make it a little easier… Good luck!

BTW… Real estate is getting busy, however our inventory of homes on the market is pretty low.  Its a great time to list so contact me and I will give you a free market analysis on your home!

Week 7 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Christine Ladke for winning last weeks challenge.  Christine won a $10 coffee card to a coffeehouse of her choice.  The correct place in the picture that I posted was in fact the fountain at Riverfront Park.  A great place to go when downtown on a hot summer day… the kids love to splash through the water and its fun to watch them.  The fountain is a fairly new feature to the park. Well, actually its about 10 years old now.  I bet many of you didn’t know that the idea of the fountain being built and placed in the entrance of the park was born back in 1974 following Expo ’74 when the park was renovated, but funding put it off till 30 years later.  It was put in the park several years ago and a feature I think added a little fun and a way to cool off when the heat is getting to you.  Here is a full picture of the fountain and a link that explains the idea of the fountain, where it came from and how long it took to put the idea in place.

Sorry I am getting this posted so late but I’m sure you all understand with it being Easter Sunday, it was a very busy morning, followed by some relaxing time with the family enjoying a buffet of amazing food! We had ham with a champagne apple sauce that was to die for, green bean casserole, cheddar hash brown casserole, candied yams, rolls and of course deviled eggs.  I am writing this blog fighting a food coma and will surely pass out after I post this lol.  Luckily I had a day off today 🙂  Being a holiday I did not have to worry about showing any houses or signing any deals around. I did make a couple calls today for a buyer that wanted some information on a couple homes and wanted me to schedule an appointment for showings…  When you are a realtor you don’t really ever get a day off. That’s ok though because i really do love being a realtor and honestly, it doesn’t feel like work to me. And stepping into the bedroom, away from the family for 10 minutes to make these calls was no big deal.   So, on to Week 7 of the challenge.  Hmm, what to give the winner for this prize… I’m getting tired of the same old coffee cards so for this week I’m going to ask that you give me some new ideas for prizes.  That’s right, I’m leaving this prize up to you.  However, I do ask that you keep the prize under $10.  It can be a gift card to your favorite restaurant, movie theater, department store, a gas card, visa card… whatever you want so when you submit this weeks challenge answer also leave your request for the prize. Remember though, please keep it under $10.  If your uncomfortable leaving an idea for a prize, that’s ok.  I will think of something or use someone else’s idea.  I will use other responses from those that didn’t win in future challenges.  And as I keep reminding you guys at the end of the 52 weeks a SUPER PRIZE will be given to one lucky winner for that last week so keep the challenge going, keep submitting guesses and pleas tag or invite your friends to these challenges!  Occasionally, I may even throw in a mini super prize 🙂  Ok, here it is… Where are we?

The Boys

Week 6 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to DeeDee Blevins for winning the drawing for last weeks challenge.  DeeDee won a $10 gift card good for free pizza at Papa Murphy’s!  The correct place was in fact Yellowstone National Park.  David and I stopped there for a night on our long drive from Miami Florida to Spokane when he moved up here.  It was one of our many stops and one place that he had never been too.  Spokane was also a place he had never even seen before his move up here.  A pretty big risk for someone to take but worth it lol.  Anyway, Yellowstone is an amazing place; a place that EVERYONE must visit atleast once in there lifetime.  I don’t think there is any other place on this earth like it.  So here is a beautiful picture I found and a link to information on the Park for those interested in learning a little more.

Sorry I’m so late getting this posted tonight but its an early year for real estate and the market is hot so being a realtor I was taking advantage of this today and doing some marketing plans and working on a newsletter that I will be sending out in the next couple days. So on to this weeks challenge. This is an easy one so again, I will be giving a way a fee Starbucks coffee card.  Since I’ve been giving away a coffee card every other week for $5, I’m going to be generous this week and make a $10 coffee card.  And since we all have our favorite coffee places, I am going to give you your choice of where you want your $10 worth of coffee.  If you win the drawing just let me know your coffee preference and I will get in the mail to you.  Remember that this challenge is open to anyone who wants to participate, so invite your friends by tagging them on my Facebook post.  Also, don’t forget that there is a super prize drawing at the end of the 52 weeks (Spa package or a night at the Davenport or something along those lines) So don’t forget to get your guesses in! The super prize will be worth it! You ready for it? Ok here it is. Submit your guesses in the comments section of my Facebook post that brought you to this blog.

Week 6

Week 5 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations Gina Johnson for winning last weeks challenge!  Gina won a movie card for a free movie at the AMC theaters. The correct place was the EMP Museum at Seattle Center next to the Space Needle.  I took David there 2 years ago as he had never been to Seattle.  We went to a lot of the Seattle attractions while we where there so he could really get the experience of Seattle.  We had a lot of fun.  So here is the link to the EMP Museum for those who are interested in knowing more about it.  Its a very cool building.

Now on to Week 5! Ok, so the winner for this challenge will receive a $10 gift card to Papa Murphey’s Pizza.  The location of this place is like no other on earth, that I know of anyway; and it is one of my favorite places to visit.  I have been here many times as a child and again a couple years ago.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to take my kids here yet but I hope to some day… if its still there as it is overdue for its natural disaster that happens every 600,000+ years… Yup, for those paying attention there’s your hint ;-).  If you have never been here, I highly recommend visiting this place.  It is one of the coolest places I have ever seen.  Ok, so no need to be specific on this one. Infact if you could actually give me and address of my exact location I am standing, I would be extremely surprised, lol. Just name the location, this should be an easy one! If, I’m proven wrong then maybe I will give another hint later this week. Tag your friends, comment your guesses on my Facebook in the comments of the post that took you here.  Win a Pizza! Good luck!

Week 5

Week 4 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Cathy Isakson for winning the drawing for 52 Places in 52 Weeks!  Cathy won a coffee card by guessing correctly on the picture that I posted for last weeks challenge.  The correct place was the Market Theater Gum Wall located in downtown Seattle under Pike Place Market.  Here is a link to this well known, yet kinda gross, Seattle attraction.

Now with last week behind us, its time for our 4th challenge.  I intended on being somewhere new every week and posting a picture of that spot… ya, thats not happening, lol.  Being a dad of 3 teenage boys and working in Real Estate doesn’t always give me the free time that I would hope for.  My boys are my first priority of course and Real Estate comes in close second… gotta pay the bills :-).  I have learned that with 3 kids and a career in Real Estate, you really never get time off… ever lol.  But I’m ok with that because I like to stay busy and I can honestly say that I love my career and you all know I love my boys with all my heart.  They are my motivator and I owe my success in life to them.

Ok, so with yet another busy weekend I am posting a picture of a place that I was at recently but I was not there this weekend.  However, I was there within the last 2 years.  This may or may not be hard… I don’t know but we will soon find out.  Are you ready? Ok, Here is the pic.  Again, please be specific, not just city and state, i’m looking for for the building and location that this picture was taken. Don’t need the address 😉

Good luck! This weeks prize is another AMC movie pass to the winner of the drawing!

Week 3 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Katie Stillenger for winning the drawing for guessing the correct place in the 52 Places in 52 weeks challenge.  Katie won the AMC Movie pass!  So the correct place was Waddell’s Pub & Grill.  They have great burgers and hot dogs and were even on the food network show “Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives”.  Here is a link to Waddell’s website featured with Guy Fieri.  http://waddellspubandgrill.com/photos/gallery/guy-fieri-diners-drive-ins-and-dives/ Waddell's So for Week number 3…  This is going to be either really easy or really hard.  Since I have a feeling this will be an easy one for most, this weeks winning prize will be a Dutch Bro’s coffee card for a free coffee.  I am sorry I am not in this picture and was not at this place this weekend but i promise I was there when the picture was taken, lol.  It was an extremely busy weekend in real estate for me as I was signing around deals and presenting multiple offers to my sellers on the listing I took last week.  Yes, that means my listing sold in 2 days with 3 offers!! It was an exciting week for me! My sellers are very happy, the buyers are very happy and I’m ready to do it again!  Anyhow, are you ready for this weeks picture? You have to be VERY SPECIFIC on the location on this one NOT JUST CITY AND STATE… if you know where this is then you know what I’m looking for…  Ok, here goes. Good luck!Week 3

A home made from love

IMG_9528

I just listed a home in the Spokane Valley. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood is a home lasting from love. Just walking through this home I could feel the warmth wrapped around me like a blanket. The rooms bright and airy, I could almost see the cherished memories that still lingered. From the handcrafted custom windows and door frames, to the trickling water feature waiting in the back yard. The rooms were large and the kitchen bright. Newer flooring in the kitchen and bathroom add a bit extra warmth to this already lovely home. The large living room has a gas fireplace creating a nice ambiance for a quiet night. The lower level has a family room that extends the whole width of the home with a wood burning fireplace giving that space an added touch of serenity. With all that space, two more bedrooms could easily be added for a larger family. The utility room itself is as big as a bedroom with more storage than I would know what to do with. As I walked into the back yard, my eyes caught a water feature that sat in the middle of the yard as if it owned that space. I could just see myself on a nice sunny day sitting on the covered porch, sipping my favorite drink or getting lost in a novel while listening to the water trickle down the stone to the earth below. As I left, I thought to myself that I only hope this home shares many more years of love and new memories with its new family.

Week 2 of 52 Places in 52 Weeks

Congratulations to Luara Lee Miethe for winning last weeks drawing for a free coffee card!  So last week it was pretty obvious by EVERYONE getting it correctly where I was at.  It was also a good turn out for the amount of people that participated… more than I expected in the first week.  So , Yes, You were all correct!  I was at Riverfront Park standing in front of the Big Red Wagon… The worlds largest Red Wagon! Here is a little information on the Red Wagon.
